For more than 40 years, Adelaide Kerbing has been shaping South Australia’s roadsides with precision, consistency and a whole lot of hard work. As a long‑standing South Central Truck & Bus customer, the team recently put the all‑new Mack Anthem concrete agitator through its paces in a real kerbing application - and the results speak for themselves.

There’s no better test than the real thing. Check out the video below and see the Mack Anthem Agitator put to work in a real‑world kerbing application.

Hear directly from owner Vic Saccoccio and the Adelaide Kerbing team about their experience with the Mack Anthem agitator and why Mack continues to be their truck of choice.

A family business built on hard work

Founded in 1984 by Vic, Adelaide Kerbing began with nothing more than an old ute and determination. Today, the business is a trusted civil works specialist delivering roadside kerbing, spoon drains, stand ups, rollovers and much more.

Vic describes Adelaide Kerbing as a true family operation - one that’s grown by investing in the right people, the right equipment and, importantly, the right trucks.

“The most successful thing we’ve ever done is buy our own concrete trucks. Honestly, it’s really put us on the map.”

Trialling the Mack Anthem agitator

Over a three week trial, South Central Truck & Bus worked closely with Adelaide Kerbing, supporting the team as they put the Mack Anthem agitator to work alongside their curb machine - a demanding environment that requires slow speed control, stability and unwavering reliability.

Vic’s verdict? The Anthem delivered. “We think it’s a fantastic truck. We really do. Mack makes them better all the time - more comfortable, quieter inside the cab. I love everything about them.”

Built for precision kerbing

Kerbing work demands finesse, and the Anthem’s crawler modes, performance drive mode and tight turning circle proved invaluable on site.

Driver Tony Corkin explains: “It’s really a driver’s truck. More power, better turning circle, more safety features. But it just doesn’t break a sweat.”

Tony highlights how simple the truck is to operate and how easily it runs in sync with the curb machine:

  • Press the drive mode button once to switch from economy to performance
  • Use the minus button to drop back to first gear
  • Continue into Crawler 2 and Crawler 1 for ultra slow, controlled movement

This allows the truck to run beside the curb machine without accelerating, delivering smooth, consistent concrete flow - exactly what kerbing crews need.

Powered for productivity

Working alongside Adelaide Kerbing throughout the trial, South Central Truck & Bus helped ensure the Anthem was configured and operated to suit the demands of kerbing work.

Powered by the efficient MP8 engine and featuring seamless mDRIVE kerb functionality, the Anthem delivers the productivity, manoeuvrability, comfort and safety operators need to get the job done. These features proved essential in maintaining consistent flow, precise speed control and smooth operation throughout the kerbing process.

Safety and strength where it matters

With cameras at every angle, enhanced safety features and the trademark Mack toughness, the Anthem proved itself as a premium, purpose built solution for specialised civil work.

“You couldn’t get a better, tougher truck,” says Vic.

Beyond capability, Vic and the team simply enjoy driving the Anthem. It’s comfortable, powerful and designed for operators who spend long days behind the wheel.
