Made in Australia

Volvo Trucks recognised very early on the operating challenges that customers faced in Australia – heavier loads, greater distances, a climate ranging from the hot and dusty and Outback, to the ice and snow of the Snowy Mountains. In short, conditions that make trucks work harder than just about anywhere in the world.

Safety, It's Volvo's DNA

When designing the Volvo FH16, we started with a blank page. Then we designed every line and component from scratch for a truck that embodies safety. Safety is in our DNA and we are continually innovating to drive further safety in our trucks..

Proudly Australian Built

It is a little known fact that Volvo Trucks first established a production facility in 1972, building heavy duty trucks in Wacol, Brisbane, Queensland and still today manufacture FH, FM and FMX Euro5 models for the Australian and New Zealand region. Having produced more than 60,000 trucks at Volvo’s Wacol plant, it’s clear that the Volvo Group is a manufacturer that has not only endured, but thrived in Australia.

Volvo Fuel Super Truck

The first B-double concept truck in the world. The truck is designed to run on the least amount of diesel possible, without compromising productivity or performance. Under rigorous testing, the Australian trials of the Volvo Fuel Super Truck showed a gain in fuel efficiency of 20 per cent over the base line FH16, which itself is well known in the market for its leading fuel efficiency.

Volvo Dynamic Steering Demonstration

Watch Jean-Claude Van Damme carry out his famous split between two reversing trucks. This live test was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering -- a world first technology that makes the Volvo FM easier to drive.
