The Brisbane Truck Show, Australia’s largest industry exhibition and the biggest truck show in the Southern Hemisphere, was one to remember!
It delivered an unforgettable few days for trucking enthusiasts and industry experts, packed with innovation, announcements and record-breaking attendance. Many of the South Central Truck & Bus team were proud to be part of the action, taking in exciting new developments and updates from across our industry.
Held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 15–18, this year’s event showcased the industry’s finest, with more than 300 exhibitors and an impressive 54,790 attendees - a new record that smashed the previous high of 42,855 attendees set in 2023. This premier event continues to grow in both scale and impact each year.

The South Central Truck & Bus team were proud to be on the ground at the event celebrating the latest developments from Volvo Group Australia, who have been our long-standing partner for over 57 years. We’re always excited to witness their impressive stand featuring new innovations from Volvo, Mack, and UD Trucks.
Volvo FH16 780 takes top honour
Volvo Truck’s FH16 780 was honoured at the Brisbane Truck Show with the prestigious 2025 International Truck of the Year Australasia Award. Boasting a class-leading 3,800Nm of torque and 780hp, the FH16 780 offers unmatched performance underload and improved fuel efficiency with taller final drive ratios.

Tim Giles, Chair of the Truck of the Year Australasia jury, praised the FH16’s powerful yet refined driving experience: “The torque and power make light work of heavy freight tasks, and the driveline handles tough conditions effortlessly.”
Also featured on the Volvo Group Australia stand were the FH Aero I-Save — designed for optimal efficiency — and the FMX Electric, reinforcing Volvo’s commitment to offering an electric alternative.

All trucks on display featured Volvo’s latest safety technology, including the new Camera Monitoring System (CMS), Volvo Dynamic Steering, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Pilot Assist — which, when paired with cruise control, actively maintains lane position.
Volvo Trucks Australia Vice President, Tom Chapman, highlighted the brand’s expanding range stating, “our current lineup is our best yet — safer, more efficient, and more productive. We're proud to be recognised for the difference it can make to our customers’ operations.”
UD Trucks launches all-new Condor range
Ninety years after founder Kenzo Adachi set out to build trucks focused on efficiency and productivity, UD Trucks Australia has unveiled the all-new Condor at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show — a next-generation medium-duty range built for modern transport demands.
The new Condor features advanced safety systems, a redesigned cab, and a powerful yet efficient 300hp Euro 6 engine paired with Allison automatic transmissions. Available in 4x2, 6x2, and 6x4 configurations with various wheelbase options, it’s designed for flexibility across diverse applications.

Safety takes centre stage for the Condor, with features like autonomous emergency braking for vulnerable road users, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition and electronic stability control.
“This new range marks an exciting chapter for UD Trucks Australia,” said Philippa Wood, UD Trucks Australia Vice President. “The Condor continues our legacy of durability, efficiency, and innovation.”
Sales for the new UD Condor range will start from Q3 2025 at our dealerships.
